ABOUT US

Background-Grey.jpg

DR. ANGELA GULBRANSON

Dr. Gulbranson is a listener. One of her favorite parts of each appointment is hearing what’s on the minds of her patients. Not just about their vision, but about their lives.

This level of compassion is the foundation for all of her work. And it’s what helps her provide the best treatment options for her patients. While advanced technology is an important part of what she does, it always takes a back seat to kindness.

In her free time, Dr. Gulbranson immerses herself in her family and supports her three children in their many activities. A lover of all seasons, you’re just as likely to find her outdoors in the summer and the winter.

Dr Gulbranson is very thorough and always willing to go the extra mile to find solutions!  I never feel rushed through the appointment. Staff is welcoming and friendly.

DR. JENNIFER HUPKE

After just one appointment with Dr. Hupke, you’ll feel like you visited an old friend. That’s because she works hard to get to know each patient and really listens to what’s on their mind. She’s warm, full of compassion, and prides herself on building relationships based on trust.

Her approach to eye care goes beyond just 20/20 vision. She takes the time to explore each patient’s unique situation and thinks about how vision impacts their daily lives and activities. She’s also very good at explaining the “why” behind everything she does while providing valuable knowledge about vision.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Hupke likes to keep up with the activities of her three children, cheer on the Duke hoops team, cuddle with her Frenchie named Zion, and relax at the lake with family and friends.

WHAT PATIENTS ARE SAYING

My young children had excellent appointments with Dr. Hupke and her staff. The next day they asked if we could see the eye doctor again because it was so much fun! Dr. Hupke and her staff were courteous, personable, and thorough.

DR. ASHLEY GENTRUP

Dr. Gentrup takes passion to a whole new level in her work. She thrives on making personal connections with her patients and brings her fun, friendly, and whimsical personality into every single appointment.

Her exams are much more than simply, “Which is better, one or two?” She takes a functional approach to patient care and is very thorough in helping people improve both their vision and quality of life. She’s honest, straightforward, and communicates clearly without all the medical jargon.

When she’s not making every patient feel like they’re her only patient, Dr. Gentrup likes to spend time with family and friends, cheer on her Huskers, bake, take barre3 classes, and travel.

WHAT PATIENTS ARE SAYING

If it is true that the best doctors know how to get their young patients to laugh during an exam, then Dr. Gentrup is the queen of the best. Not only that, the support staff knows us by name and personal care is evident in all they do.

DR. CHRISTIAN DEJONGH

Every patient is unique. And so is the specialized care delivered to each of them by Dr. DeJongh.

Dr. DeJongh believes in getting to know his patients in order to build a relationship based on respect, trust, and understanding. When you have as many outside interests and hobbies as he does, it’s pretty easy to make connections.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. DeJongh is a master of dad jokes and a talented musician that performs with several area groups. In addition to his optometric education, he studied music at Augustana University and Boston’s Berklee College of Music. An accomplished drummer, he’s been teaching lessons for over a decade. Yet he still finds a way to spend time with his family, his girlfriend Maddy (who happens to be a dentist!), and his cat, Rho.
